The Carl
and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center is a center for outpatients and
their families. It is located at The Stamford Hospital campus
in Stamford, Connecticut.
The Center is intended to be a setting for state-of-the-art
treatment protocols, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy
and hematology oncology. In every aspect, this building is designed
for the tranquility of cancer patients and their families.
The center is organized around a two-story glass
interior garden. All key areas for patients relate to the
garden.
The exterior of the
building blends with the original buildings on the campus. A
curvilinear glass wall on the east side of the building offers
morning light and preserves a 50 year old flowering cherry tree
that frames the front door.
